Okay, so i wanna tell you about how life has been gone so far.
Well, i have told you in the Hey June! Post about my target and dreams. I have been through them all. Some of them have not yet accomplished but some are have been succeeded. Let's start with the "Not Yet Accomplished" first:
1. Proposal Defense - (I really have to be honest about this) That i still have maaaaannyyyy things to be settled. I have to finalize the problem statement and find the theory which supports the research. Yes, the theory! I am looking for you! (sigh) Annndd, i really need to make it finish as soon as possible! -Supervisor Quote- xp
2. Go Green Film - Yeah, i finished the film with the sound and picture in different files. If you don't understand just make it simple that i gotta fix and re-edit the film. It is soooo sad that when you come to see the result after the hours of rendering process and JREEENG!!! It is not what you expect. But life is about to try another shot, right? ;)
3. Summer School - It is hard to tell you about this. That i should be in Romania now, today, this time. But i couldn't make it. Okay, i have been accepted for the full scholarship of summer school in Bucharest Summer University (BSU). I was one of the 10 participants chosen in full scholarship coverage from manyyyyy participants whom applied for this summer school. It was 24th of June that i lost hope to join this event. But the new email came on 29th told that due to the large number of applicants, the announcement is changed to 5th of July. So, i was waiting in the middle of hope and worried, but that night the email did not come. I was hopeless and realize that i have to spend my holiday in this jungle (university). Then, the next day the surprise came. Yeah, i was accepted in the full scholarship! x) Hamdulillah. The full scholarship covers all the expenses except transportation. Yes, that was my problem, to get the free flight ticket to Romania. I don't want to ask money from Dad cuz it is around RM 5000 in return. I decided to join the Qatar Airways Contest, the photo competition with the economy flight ticket as one of prizes. I asked all my friends to vote for me so that i can win the prize. It was 25th of July that i should know whether i get the free ticket or not. But there was nothing, no announcement. I was again, hopeless. I want to go there by my effort including money. I was waiting, waiting and waiting.
Dad asked me whether i will go there or not in terms of ticket. I said, "I don't know. I am not sure that i will get the free ticket." Dad asked me to buy the ticket, he said, "Don't worry." But i did not obey his order. I prefer to wait for the announcement. My feeling said i will get it. The BSU staff have asked me to process for visa but i know to go for it, i should know first the flight that i will take. So i just ignore them for a while. It was 30th of July that finally the announcement came out. I didn't win the ticket but the 5000 Qmiles from Qatar Airways. It is a credit that you can exchange with ticket, shopping, baggage and others. I checked how much do i need to go to Bucharest and it is written that i need 75000 Qmiles. 1000 Qmiles is $350 so you can count how much i need to pay for the ticket. But Dad said it is okay, at least we pay cheaper and i called and emailed the Qatar Airways staff. To take a note, the respond from Qatar Airways is slow and late. I really hate this when the customer should come in first place. They did not reply my email in two days and i decided to call again that finally come to a conclusion. That i need more money to buy the ticket using Qmiles and cash. So, i know that i can't go there.
It was 2nd of August that i know about the regulation to apply for visa. You don't need to buy the ticket first and after the visa is come out then you can buy it. I was sure that i have to buy the ticket because it is written in the requirements on Romania Embassy web pages. Before, when i process the visa to Tunisia, i gave the ticket confirmation as the proof to go there. So, i thought that is important as the first step but probably i was wrong. Yeah, in this part i admit that i am too focus about how to get the ticket not the visa. I should be sure that i will get the ticket and just go process the visa. But, that time, my mind messed up, i was lost and hopeless. By the time i knew that i can't go there, i was crying. Yeah, it is normal, right? You really want something, it is just one more step but you can't make it. It is like you have been gone to Y to go to Z and have to go back to A, again. So sad x( It was 3rd of August when my friend asked me to go process the visa and ask BSU whether it is okay for me to come late to event. The summer school will start on 12th-26th of August and the visa process takes around a week. I did not get the reply that night. The next day, i got an email telling me, they have been to Indonesian embassy and Immigration office. For sure, the Indonesian embassy can't help since they just process visa for Romanian who wants to go to Indonesia. And the immigration office said the visa process can take for 30 days cuz they have to check my documents and etc. I just take a deep breath when i read the email. It is fixed that i can't go to Romania. I have emailed the Romanian Embassy in KL as well and they said that the office is closed until September. I must go to Jakarta if i want to process the visa. It is like...all the doors are closed. No way for me.
However, i keep thinking positive that maybe it is not the best one. I believe that Allah SWT will give me the better chance and opportunity. Everything comes for a reason. But, i do have to take a note for process the visa as soon as possible.
4. ACI 2012 - Detik.com did not open any registration for this famous adventure event. Hope for next year! x)
5. Tunisia Diary - I have made the "Catatan Harian Tunisia" (TunisiaStory) until Part 4. Long way to go for 6 months awesome experience! Run, Ulka, run!!! xD~
6. Doodles - I have uploaded my 2 (shameless) doodles in 30DaysDrawing (30HariMelukis). Have fun and enjoy! x) FYI, more doodles to come! *)
Here we come to the Successful part x))
1. I joined the writing competition organized by my student residential hall. It was Islamic Story Competition and hamdulillah i got the third place. x) Take a look at my Writing here ;)
2. The second writing competition is held by Indonesian Student Association of Yemen. My story "Kuat dan Naga Api" is chosen as 100 best nominators from 320 stories submitted. Hamdulillah x) I was screaming when i see my name is on the list! *)

The Cover of Book
So, all the winners and nominators stories will be published in a book called "Simfoni Balqis". This is the first time that my story will be in a book. Yes, a book x') And anyway, this is international competition *)
3. Accepted as full scholarship applicant for summer school in Bucharest Summer University. Though i can't go there, being accepted under the full scholarship coverage among many participants, is such a bless x)
4. Qatar Airways Reflection Photo Contest Viewer's Choice winners
Finally my efforts to ask all friends, sit on Facebook along the day to inform them to vote my photo are not in vain. x) I won the Viewer's choice winners category with 154 votes. If you ask how can i win? I email friends, ask them on Facebook and Twitter. The most important thing is to let them know about your photo and how to vote. Since the voting process for Qatar Contest is a bit complicated so you just need to be patient to help them. Firstly i did not expect to get the category of Viewer's choice award cuz many rivals with more number of votes. I expect to get the lucky draw with the free economy ticket but seems Allah knows what is the better for me. I got the Viewer's choice award with 5000 Qmiles prizes which is not as valuable as the economy ticket. But it is okay, i just can say Hamdulillah. I thought i didn't win and my friend is the one who told me that i won the competition. And yeah, that moment when you see your name on the list with other winners is just...Happyyyyyy!! And relieved x'))

Meanwhile, there are some competition that i did not join. Actually i was decided not to join because some reasons. But i realize i should make back up plan and i regret not to apply for these:
1. Volunteer in Cinefest Asia Film Competition
I was busy to prepare the Go Green Film. I thought i will be there as the film maker and present my film. But unfortunately, i can't. I should have applied this application so i can be in the event.
2. Global Entrepreneurship Summer School
Held in Munich, Germany. I did not apply this summer school cuz it will be on September when the college life starts already. And i thought i would have gone to Romania but yeah, i did not. So i should made this summer school as the back up plan. x'(
3. ASES in Beijing, China
The other seminar for entrepreneurship. Again i did not apply cuz on the 30th of August and 8th of September i will have the colloquium for graduate students. Anyway the seminar would be on 1th-7th September. But, nothing to lose, right? I should just apply and think about the others later. I have to admit i did not make it on the last date to apply, 10th august. I should manage my time better. x))
How do i know about those information? I strongly recommend you to add this account Motivasi Beasiswa in your Facebook Group to get the information about everything related to scholarships.
So, i guess that is all. The next target is to focus on the proposal defense and get the scholarship. One more, the Tunisia Book. Hope you guys have wonderful months passed! Don't give up! Cuz there are only two choices: You will get it or you will get the better one in the future x) Good luck!
