1. At Library. 11.30 PM
This was happened just now. A conversation between my friend, Her and her friend, Him. We just finished our library miserable night time. Before, we sat on the same table and talked about common thing. And suddenly, He just revealed the surprise.
Him: So, when will you go to China with me?
Her: Yeah..with my family after finish thesis.
Him: With me?
Her: He? hahaha yeah..soon.
Him: I will go back to China.
Her: Really? When?
Him: Next week.
Her: For how long?
Him: Don't know yet. I have submitted the thesis for VIVA. So just wait for the announcement.
Her: Wow!! .... really? You are great!
Him: Thanks.
In the car. On the way to home.
Me: Wow, he has submitted the thesis already.
She: Yeah. He is the one who comes to library at 8 o'clock sharp and stay until 8 PM. Everyday. He is still in the fourth semester.
And, anyway, he is Chinese.
2. At the Mall.
I was going to faculty when suddenly i met an Indonesian man at the mall.
The Man: Sorry, i just wanna ask, is it the semester break now?
Me: Yeah. It is the holiday.
The Man: I see. That is why no people around.
Me: Yeah.
The Man: Are you Indonesian?
Me: Yeah. I'm Indonesian.
The Man: Ya..i'm from Bandung. I am just curious why it is so quiet here. Before i came it is more crowded.
Me: (smiling)
The Man: I came here cuz i got a call to do the VIVA.
Me: Oh, really? When is it?
The Man: Tomorrow. At COLGIS faculty.
Me: Good luck!
The Man: Thanks. See you!
A day ago before i met him, our colleague, Pak Fikri also has done his VIVA. He has finished the PhD study. x)
I don't what this is all about. A sign to finish study quickly? Probably.
Congratulations for all who has gone for VIVA. You did a great job, guys! And for those who are struggling to reach the step, keep up good work and never give up! *)
PS: VIVA is the oral examination for PhD thesis/dissertation
